Five minutes from the world famous `La Croisette`, fifteen minutes from the Cannes- Mougins golf courses, twenty minutes from Nice International airport, right in the heart of the residential area of Cannes- Californie, the Chateau Oasis is settled in a five acre park of unique beauty. The Chateau was built in 1868 in the fashion of the Venetian Palazzos, which resembled the popular 19th century style of Palladium. Authentic Restoration of the Interior. Before restoration, a `Room- Book` has been created by a famous architect. The different layers of paintings have been carefully removed to unveil the original colors. Only then the reconstruction began. Today, the Chateau appears in the way it was designed one hundred and fifty years ago. The original marble floors on the ground level were kept and the walnut smoked oak parquetry was replaced in exactly the same style as the old one. Living in a Chateau The spacious living room, the original paneled dining room and the oak trimmed library all open to two marbled terraces in front of the magnificent listed French park. Naturally all these rooms have working fire places. A state of the art Provencal kitchen and a guest apartment completes the ground floor. From the arched hallway there is the authentic staircase leading to the owner`s private area, with a spacious living room and a huge balcony, where you can enjoy a clear view of the sea and of the Estérel Mountains. Four bedrooms with bathrooms tiled with antique Italian marble complete the first floor. Two additional guest apartments are found in the rear of the villa. Of course the whole Chateau is air-conditioned. A Chateau would not be a Chateau without a wine cellar. The cave consists of two climate zones; one part for the wine tasting with an open fire place and the other one with an air-conditioned and moisturized section for your favourite Bordeaux. The 15.000 m² park is the jewel of the Chateau. It consists of three themes. First, there is a `Jardin Provencal` with olive trees, lavender and rosemary. Near the 20 x 15 m swimming pool there is the romantic garden, which is basically kept wild with its over 200 years old trees. In the romantic garden there is a well, feeding the swimming pool by pouring the water over a waterfall. Last but not least, there is the pearl of the Chateau, namely the `Jardin Français`. This master piece was designed by the famous Jean Mus, one of the most respected French garden architects. It creates a feeling like living in Versailles.
